This year has provided me with many new experiences to learn from. I was eager going into it knowing that I would be exposed to many great uses of technology for the class room. What I didn't count on was how much I would encounter that I had never seen before. Most afternoons you will find me on my couch looking at a new site that I saw used in class that day.
One such site was Symbaloo. I was introduced to it in class and went home and started exploring. Within a few hours I had begun to master the ins and outs of the site. When I shared what I had learned with the teacher who had introduced me to the site I discovered that I now knew more than he did. Suddenly instead of just being the aid in the room I became the class expert on the site, teaching not only the teacher but the directing the students in setting up links and trouble shooting their work. I am surprised how easily I have taken to this role. It has defiantely helped me see how easy it could be to use technology in my own future classroom. I used to see technology as somewhat usefully but difficult to understand and therefore limiting. Now I can see the great potential it has in every classroom.
